Motion: Shall the congregation authorize the board to pursue a larger property for JUC within the designated Jeffco search area?
Last summer the JUC Board of Trustees set a bold goal: by May 1, 2018 we will have a viable plan to free JUC from the limits of our campus. Toward that goal, we have held forums, launched a website as an information hub, mailed a brochure and letter to members, and held two all-congregation meetings to communicate about the project. At this time, we are asking for a vote of support from the congregation. We have been actively working toward the goal, but before we take more significant steps we want specific direction from our community.
If the congregation agrees to move forward, the next steps are for the Property Evaluation Task Force to continue searching for appropriate properties and for the Board to begin determining our capital fundraising potential. If a viable new location is found, the Board will recommend this to the congregation for a separate vote on an actual purchase as required by the bylaws.
