Where are we looking for a new church location?

I would like to highlight the geographic area that the Property Evaluation Task Force has determined would be a feasible NEW location for JUC .  We will be staying within the confines of Jefferson County.  The boundaries are: Jewell Ave to our south,  88th Ave to our north, Sheridan Blvd to our east and roughly C-470/Route 93 as a western boundary.  Ideally we would prefer to find a location closer to the center of this target footprint rather than at the very edges, but it is important to realize that we are faced with a rather limited set of options and by expanding the area where we look we increase the possibility of finding a location that meets the many other criteria we are considering.  A map of the search area can be found by clicking Read More below.

The amount of space dedicated to music activities is quite limited in our current location. Would like to see that space expanded.

Has the Property Evaluation committee considered this
attractive office building?

Denver West Blvd. #1767
CBRE Company. 303-628-7453

Probably too expensive, but can only ask? Lots of parking area.

Hi Gay,

That specific property was listed outside of our budget range and is under contract.

The process moving forward (IF there's a yes vote April 15) will be for the Property Evaluation Team (PET) to make a recommendation to the Board once they have a specific property identified. That property will then be brought before the congregation to review. Recommendations are welcome but details on the works of the PET will not be shared with the congregation before a recommendation is made.

After a firing range proposal concerning Blunn-Pioneer was fought by nearby residents, I am not sure the status of this open land near Hwy 93. However, I seem to recall supporters of the firing range noting no other proposals for the use of the land had been received...nothing has hapoened there yet!

Has the committee looked at the vacant Mormon Church at the corner of 32nd and McIntyre? It appears to have vacant land to the west that could be building expansion or parking, or both. Mormon real estate comes out of Salt Lake City, I believe.
